Rainy afternoons in Murfreesboro: practical tips
The things nobody tells you until you have done it twice.
The trick with a rainy day is picking something that burns energy rather than something that keeps children still. Sitting through a film leaves the energy in the tank.
From Murfreesboro the practical question is timing rather than distance. Arriving in the first hour after opening is worth more than shaving minutes off the drive.
Before you leave the house
Both venues sit inside shopping centres, so the walk from the parking to the attraction is under cover.
Rain turns a normal afternoon into a problem to solve. An indoor attraction inside a mall solves it without anybody getting wet between the car and the door.
When you arrive
On a wet Saturday, going early beats going late. The same hour feels completely different before and after the rest of the city has the same idea.
Let the child lead the order of things. Adults optimise; children choose the thing that looks best, and they are right more often than they are wrong.

Let the child choose what to do first even when it is the thing you would have chosen last. The order matters less than the choosing.

Planning your visit in Murfreesboro
Families around Murfreesboro who have done it once tend to plan the second visit differently: shorter, earlier in the day, and with the machine the child liked in mind.
Go early if the choice is available. The first hour after opening is quieter than any hour that follows it, and quieter is easier for everybody.
If one child is nervous, let them watch for the first ten minutes without being asked to join in. Almost all of them join in.
Weekends bring more of Murfreesboro out at once. If the schedule allows a weekday, take it; the same visit is quieter and the machines wait for nobody in particular.
