The two centres in Pineville: autumn plans
The season changes what a visit feels like more than you would expect.
Families who know both tend to have a favourite per child rather than per family, which is a good sign for a pair of venues.
Families searching from Pineville are usually weighing one thing: whether it is worth the trip for an hour of something the children have not done before. The honest answer is that it depends on the child, and the rest of this page is about telling which.
Why this time of year
The ice park is at 8111 Concord Mills Blvd in Concord, North Carolina - a real rink with bumper cars that spin on it.
Let the child lead the order of things. Adults optimise; children choose the thing that looks best, and they are right more often than they are wrong.
What changes
New Life Entertainment runs two rooms that share nothing except the way they are run. One digs, one skates.
The XCAV zone is at 433 Opry Mills Drive in Nashville, Tennessee. Four machines, one crate of plastic balls, and children at the controls.
What to wear

Take the phone out of your pocket before they start rather than after. The moment worth filming is usually the first one.

Planning your visit in Pineville
Parents from Pineville tend to ask the same first question: how long will this hold their attention. Long enough to be worth the drive, and short enough to leave while they still want more.
Decide how long you are staying before you walk in. A visit with an end time attached to it finishes on a good note rather than a tired one.
If it is the first time, do not also make it a birthday. Learning a place and celebrating in it are two different visits.
The drive back to Pineville is where you find out what they actually thought. Children review an outing about twenty minutes after leaving it, never during.
