The two centres · Seasonal
The two centres in summer in Mint Hill
Same room, different month, different day out.
The ice park is at 8111 Concord Mills Blvd in Concord, North Carolina - a real rink with bumper cars that spin on it.
The drive back to Mint Hill is where you find out what they actually thought. Children review an outing about twenty minutes after leaving it, never during.
Why this time of year
Families who know both tend to have a favourite per child rather than per family, which is a good sign for a pair of venues.
New Life Entertainment runs two rooms that share nothing except the way they are run. One digs, one skates.
What changes
The XCAV zone is at 433 Opry Mills Drive in Nashville, Tennessee. Four machines, one crate of plastic balls, and children at the controls.
Agree the leaving time before you walk in, out loud, to the child. Announcing it later sounds like a punishment; agreeing it first sounds like a plan.

If one child is nervous, let them watch for the first ten minutes without being asked to join in. Almost all of them join in.

Planning your visit in Mint Hill
For a Mint Hill family the trip works best folded into something else - the shopping that was happening anyway, a birthday that needed a venue, a Saturday that needed a plan.
Let the child lead the order of things. Adults optimise; children choose the thing that looks best, and they are right more often than they are wrong.
Let the child choose what to do first even when it is the thing you would have chosen last. The order matters less than the choosing.
Weekends bring more of Mint Hill out at once. If the schedule allows a weekday, take it; the same visit is quieter and the machines wait for nobody in particular.
